| 1978 | Was born, in Boston, during a large thunderstorm, at 9:17 PM on June 19th. |
| 1981-1983 | Had boring and obnoxious time in nursery school. Was extensively criticized by compatriots for habit of hiding in corner and reading books instead of participating in healthy sociable activities like scarf-dancing. |
| 1983-1988 | Had boring and obnoxious time in grammar school in Beverly, MA. |
| 1986 | Starting attending weekend music school at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston: studied Piano, Violin, and Music Theory, and participated in Chorus and Orchestra. First instance of romance: fell madly, wildly, and unrequitedly in love with unfortunate violinist who wanted nothing more than to wish me away. |
| 1988-1995 | Started attending school in Boston at The Winsor School; had a far more entertaining time – still not entertaining enough, though. Went on tour with Youth Symphony (1993), Youth Chorale (1994), and Youth Philharmonic (1995) to Italy, Germany, Argentina, and Chile; visited Finland a couple times in 1991 and 1993 to play in orchestra there. Fell madly in love with Finnish trombone player. Spent a lot of time wandering around Boston, cutting school, eating Chinese food, and still yearning after unfortunate violinist. There had to be something better! Decided to bail out in 11th grade and go to college. Obtained first real long-term boyfriend two months before entering college. |
| 1995-2000 | Attended M.I.T. where I lived in Senior Haus. Spent several years under influence of dubious reactions with Bulgarian men. Finished three years of major in Biology before deciding to discard Biology as a major due to impossibility of getting C or better in 5.60 as well as unpleasantness of being forced to take 7.06 as opposed to 7.08 (which seems no longer to exist). Switched briefly to Course 18: dropped that after a few months, tested out Course 6 for a while: dropped that too. Searched around for the rest of the year before deciding to take up Course 21W. FInally finished, after a grand total of five years (to make up for the only three that I spent in high school) with a B.S. in Creative Writing and a Minor in Biology. Whew. Obtained second long-term boyfriend (along with a dozen short-term ones). |
| 1996 | Obtained first cat, Viacimo, from the Want Ads. |
| 1996-2002 | Obtained 11 more cats through rescues and suchlike, and gave away 9 of them. |
| 2000 | Obtained first dog, Kettricken, who actually belonged at that point to long term boyfriend #2 but always lived with me. |
| 2000-2001 | Worked as the Network Administrator for M.I.T.’s Department of Linguistics and Philosophy. Learned simultaneously how to ice skate and play ice hockey with the M.I.T. Women’s Club Team. Purchased Bauer hockey-skate-emulation rollerblades. Strange fight with ex-lover and only ever kindred spirit Brett (hereafter known as ex-friend #1) resulted in our ceasing to communicate. |
| Aug 2001 | Moved all alone to San Diego on a whim, spent 4 months learning Muay Thai kickboxing and doing nothing else. Obtained final cat, Staton Jr., from inside the motor of someone’s Honda. |
| Jan 2002 | Moved to New York City on a whim, spent 2.5 months working for extremely horrible management consulting startup, MMG Partners. Was (thankfully!) laid off due to supposed lack of funds, but actually due to refusal to conform, sell soul to firm and surrender independent existence to Corporate America. Had thrilling but bizarre and short-lived love affair with large Black man and spent a lot of time learning Krav Maga, a.k.a. Israeli street fighting. |
| July 2002 | Moved back to Boston on a whim, desperate to find work. Met future husband (though I never would have believed it then) via ice hockey. |
| Sept 2002 | Separated from long-term boyfriend #2 after 4 tumultuous years. Stopped all communications with large Black man simultaneously as nothing but trouble ever came from it. |
| Oct 2002 | Obtained position with M.I.T.’s Information Systems Training and Publications Team after months of desperate unemployment. |
| Nov 2002 | Ended feud with ex-friend #2 (aka large Black man). |
| April 5, 2003 | Excised second long-term ex-boyfriend from my life for once and for all. Lost Kettricken simultaneously, as she was technically owned by him. Started new and permanent feud with ex-friend #2. |
| Spring 2003 | Ended feud with ex-friend #1, after two years, one month, of silence. Spent many long days and nights crying (still, over loss of long term boyfriend #2) onto future husband’s shirt. |
| May 25, 2003 | Decided to bite the bullet and officially become future husband’s girlfriend, despite still shaky emotional state. |
| Sept 2003 | Trip to Taiwan, where I started getting the faint inkling that staying with future husband, perhaps forever, might be a really good idea. |
| Dec 2003 | Lost hard-won job due to extreme layoffs by stupid institution. [Well it was a contract position after all so I can't really complain...] |
| Jan 2004 | Got dog back from long term ex-boyfriend #2 when his new ex-girlfriend informed me he was going to get rid of her. Got an extra surprise as well: dog’s cousin, Fitz, whom the two of them had purchased a few months previously but also no longer wanted. |
| April 17, 2004 | Said YES, at last, to future husband’s asking me a third time to marry him. |
| July 2004 | Applied for web designer position and ended up somehow, incomprehesibly, in DB Development position (when I knew nothing of databases and little of programming) at Harvard Medical. Frantic cleanup plans at my mother’s in preparing for a home wedding just 2 months away. |
| Sept 26, 2004 | Married my beloved, mein Kuscheltier, Mike. |
| Jan 2005 | Came up with The Grand Australia Migration Plan after office mate offhandedly suggested Oz as a good place to go. |
| Dec 1, 2005 | Migrated to Australia with husband as new permanent residents for an indefinate period of time. |
| Feb 27, 2006 | Back to school after years of dilemma… completely new life/career move – started my Masters in Ancient History at University of Queensland. |
| Spring, 2006 | Became a Christian (I was brought up as a Christian but had fallen away during my college years): the single most important and valuable decision of my life. |
| Jul 2006 | Exciting archaeological dig in Israel that completely changed the way I looked at my future education and career (or lack thereof). |
| August, 2006 | Dropped out of Masters program due to dissatisfaction with educational standards and obtained contract employment with the Queensland government. |
| August 5, 2006 | Mysterious and heartbreaking disappearance of first cat, Viacimo: presumed killed by coyote. |
| January, 2007 | Bought first house in Kenmore, QLD, Australia |
| March 12th, 2007 | Started 6 month contract as a web programmer for Creation Ministries International. |
| September, 2007 | Hired on as permanent employee at CMI. |
| March, 2009 | Became pregnant with first baby! Eek! |
| June, 2009 | Moved to Zürich, Switzerland for an 8 month stint. |
| December 8, 2009 | Arrival of Calliope Jane Bosse, 11.58am, 3.4kg, 50cm!!! |
