So I switched my birth control from depo-provera to the patch. I’ve been on depo for the better part of 5 years now, and I’m starting to worry about that osteoperosis thing. My family is definitely prone to osteoperosis and I don’t think I want to tempt fate with the depo anymore.
Anyway, the patch just sucks. It itches and is sticky and obnoxious and it gets stuck to your pants if you happen to be doing any form of manual labor while wearing no underwear (I discovered this the week I moved).
Anyway, a side effect of this patch (that is the only logical explanation I can come up with) is that (not only am I breaking out like a whore,) I suddenly have large breasts. I always had completely average and forgettable breasts before, but now almost overnight I have noticeably larger ones. It’s unnerving, actually. On the one hand, I suppose it’s nicer to have larger breasts, but on the other hand, I’m just not *used* to them being there. They press against my T-shirts in the most distracting way. Besides, they ache like a bastard. It must be the estrogen thing.
So does this mean that when I adjust to the patch they will go away? Will they stay as long as I’m on the patch and then go away if I go off it? And when the heck are they going to stop hurting?
side-effects usually pass over 2 weeks; but you may be stuck with some big honkers while you’re on the patch.
Dude, I wouldn’t worry about osteoporosis until menopause. MAYBE you would become prone to stress fractures on DEPO, but that would have happened already.
Wolff’s law baby! You can go back to depo-provera.
Like the said, the boobs stay with estrogen based birthcontrol. You get more actual breast tissue, not chubb.
Give your cooper’s ligaments a chance to adjust!
