So, it’s official…. Mike and I are moving in together on July 1. We signed the contract thing today, and will sign the lease after June 1.

We found a place right in Coolidge Corner, on a quiet leafy side street. So peaceful and yet so convenient! They don’t care that we have pets, the place is a two BR on two levels so we can easily gate off the stairs (stairs! oooh!) to keep the dogs somewhat confined. There’s a shady little back terrace where the dogs can go out to play, the neighborhood is peaceful enough to let the cats out to wander, and there is garaged parking (albeit at $100/car/month which even so is somewhat cheaper than standard).

It’s slightly more expensive than we wanted — that is, the price of the apartment is reasonable, but when you tack on $200/month for the cars it becomes a bit more than we wished to pay – but the wonderful location, the cleanliness, and animal accomidatingness all makes it worth it. I always wanted to live a really nice clean peacfeul place but always sacrificed that for price, whether I was living alone or with Bryant. This time it really is a nice place, it’s not in any town in which I lived with or spent time with Bryant, and there are no lingering grey memories of him.

I’m so glad this apartment hunt is over. It was stressing me out rather.

Now I’m trying to help Andy find a roommate to fill my place — anyone know someone who wants to live in the heart of Inman Square for damn cheap?

All winter it was 37 degrees F in my apartment.

Now, in May, it is 100 degrees F.

Shall I never win?

Me and mrtee are big dorks. We live in the same apartment, yet sit in our respective rooms and write each other IM messages :-P

Went to the Esplanade today and fell asleep in the sun.

I have become half a lobster.

So now I am sitting butt naked at home, covered in yogurt (an old Bulgarian remedy that works pretty well).

Want to know the worst feeling in the world? Smearing ice cold yogurt on a sunburned stomach.

Oooooooogh

Last night Tracy, Maddog, and Brooke made dinner for me and Mike – a little engagement party sort of. There was lots of awesome food and lots of stuff to drink.

I drank 5 glasses of wine and part of a martini. This morning Mike and I have to get on a bus. I think I will throw up.

The End.

I take that back.

Especially when they are connected to MACS. Especially when they are chained together by the bazillions. Especially when the Macs run OS < 9.

Woe is me!
