OH!

It’s Fall. I love the Fall!

Seem to be getting allergies, though.

I’m retaking the motorcycle beginner safety course this weekend. I took it when I was 19 to get my license initially, but given how rarely I’ve driven in the 6 years that have passed since then, I figured it won’t hurt to take it again. Zaubi’s gonna take it with me, too.

My murder party # II has to be postponed because two of the potential murderers backed out last minute :’( I need two more for eight total! Where shall I find them?!

Ahhh… blessed solitude. I am going to take myself to my favorite coffeehouse (Ok, I’m lazy, it’s just across the street) and read my book and pass the time away.

It seems like so long since I’ve done that!

My ass-roommate took money from me for the cable bill but apparently didn’t pay it. I just opened a statement for about $220.

He’s in the hospital right now undergoing electroshock therapy. he left me a voicemail the other day saying that he was scared to call me but that is where he is…

Grr. When he gets out of the hospital I’m gonna electroshock his ass…

Still no sign of my roommate, but it’s time for bed!

At long last!

I (with much help from Zaubi, especially when it came to recursing through directories) have finished the insane Perl script that has been my project for the past week as I went from no knowledge of Perl to much knowledge of Perl. And CGI and JavaScript, en route.

The long and short of it is, our Taiwan pictures are now up and posted. I didn’t put them up before because I wanted the script to nicely automate them into webpages and create the form and so forth so that I can edit the captions from a nice web interface instead of manually… There are too damn many to do that shit by hand.

Today I upgraded my server to Apache 2 and fixed it to work with PHP and Postnuke. It was surprisingly easy, given how perfinicky it was last year with older Apache, PHP, and Postnuke. I don’t know any PHP but I think I’ll learn. I like to amuse myself that way. I’ve had more fun in the past week scripting Perl than doing almost anything else (maybe that is because I was sick in bed for most of it, but maybe I am just a super dork?)

You guys really aren’t interested in hearing about this, are you.

Anyway, check out the photos! Some a little risqué… :-p well, only one or two; I censored heavily :-D

Does anyone have a really good recipe for vegetable fried rice with egg? I can’t seem to find one.

My roommate seems to have vanished off the face of the planet. Sunday night when I got back from the airport, very late, I saw him in his room, sitting up on the bed, totally passed out or drugged. I haven’t seen him since and there has been every sign that he hasn’t been here. Always before when he went into the hospital, he called me and let me know. I can’t say I’m sorry he’s not around, but I wonder where he is…

Friday and I still feel like shit. I’m going into work anyway. When will this disease go away?

This is nuts. http://www.cnn.com/2003/HEALTH/09/25/bionic.arm/index.html

My team leader sent that to me today. Ah, I love MIT!

Next thing you know, we’ll be regenerating our limbs like starfish :)

awake and miserable

I thought jetlag was supposed to reverse things; like, with a 12 hour time difference, I should be tired in the day and awake at night, right?

Well, I am awake in the day AND the night, it matters not which. I am loathsomely exhausted but I’ve never been this un-sleepy in my life.

I have slept all of 5 hours (and I had to FORCE myself into every one!) since Monday morning early.

So I think I will stay at home with this miserable flu or whatever today too. Have lots of work to do anyway, though. And now I will have to miss the IS Indian Summer social.

Blah!

awake and miserable

I am dying of disease.

And I can’t sleep.
